Constitution101

Hillsdale - About Our Constitution

Age Range: 13 and up

This site offers a free video course called "Constitution 101: The Meaning and History," complete with lectures, readings, quizzes, and downloadable study guides. The lectures follow the one-semester course given to the college's undergraduate students, but teens and their parents will enjoy the material as well.

It is a Free site but you do have to register. A donation is suggested, but it is not required to access the course.

The lectures are released weekly through April 23, 2012. Once released, they are archived at the site so that you can access them at any time. The 10-lecture video series is pre-recorded. Each lasts approximately 40 minutes.

You will also be able to access free "Readings" (pdfs) that include:

•The Declaration of Independence

•The Articles of Confederation
•The Northwest Ordinance
•The Constitution of the United States of America

The downloadable "Study Guide" includes lecture summaries, readings, key passages, study questions, and discussion questions. Multiple choice quizzes test your comprehension of the lectures and readings. Learn more at the website noted above.
