Language Arts Site

This website offers a treasure trove of recorded children's stories and literature from the 1940's and 1950's that you can download or listen to for free online, as you browse the books with original illustrations!

Kiddie Records began as a year-long project to celebrate the golden age of children's records by offering a story each week. The project lasted through 2009 and now, the stories are all archived online. As explained at the website, "Many of the recordings were extravagant Hollywood productions on major record labels and featured big time celebrities and composers."

Here are a few to list:

•Story of Robin Hoodhttp://www.kiddierecords.com/

•Cinderella

•Hopalong Cassidy

•The Selfish Giant

•500 Hats of Bartholomew Cubbins

•Peter Pan

•Tubby the Tuba

•The Sorcerer's Apprentice

•Rudyard Kipling's Jungle Book
