2012 Scholarship Essay Contest

With the overwhelming response to our recent CollegePlus Scholarship announcement, we have decided to expand the scholarship and make it better. Now instead of a $25,000 scholarship to just one University, we're offering the winner of our scholarship competition a $25,000 scholarship to the college of their choice! And don't worry, we also moved the deadline for entry back a few weeks as well to give you more time. What is your student passionate about? Ministry? Orphans? Business? Preparing to be a mother? We want to hear from them about it. We want to hear what they’re passionate about and then help them turn that passion into reality by giving them a scholarship to start their bachelor's degree. Or if they're our $25,000 grand prize scholarship winner they could win enough to complete it! From now until August 28th, students are invited to create one of two essays: •A 750-1000 word written essay OR •A 3-5 minute video essay There are 3 different scholarships available: •Participation scholarship - just for participating, all new students receive a $350 CollegePlus scholarship •Runner-up scholarship - two students will receive a $3,000 CollegePlus scholarship - one to each of the students with the best essay in the two categories •Grand prize scholarship - $25,000 to the college of their choice! *see website for more information We will also be giving away two new iPads for the essays that receive the highest number of votes. Here's How: All students are encouraged to create a written or video essay that explains the value they will receive from starting their degree with CollegePlus and graduating from the college of their choice - be it one of our partner colleges or another University of their choosing. This can include: •The amazing things they'll be able to do while earning their degree through CollegePlus. •What earning their degree at their own pace and without debt will mean to their future. •The business they can start from home while earning their degree through CollegePlus. •The ministry or internship work they will be able to complete while earning their degree. •How earning their degree through CP will allow them the flexibility to pursue their passions. Not only will our panel of judges choose a grand prize winner of the CollegePlus $25,000 scholarship competition, but we will also have individual category winners for video and written essays, and two Audience Choice Award recipients who will win a new iPad if they receive the most votes from their friends and fans. And remember - all new students will receive a $350 scholarship simply for entering the contest. And don't forget that since the Audience Choice Awards are based on votes, the sooner an essay is submitted, the longer it has to receive votes. So sign up soon!
