IXL Review

We recently reviewd for IXL Learning recieving an annual membership for all three of our kids in the IXL program which is an online educational website for grades Pre-K-12. This site offers soomeething for eveyone whether the learning setting is in the home or in the classroom. They also have a mobile app which makes the on-the-go learning much easier.

This site covers various forms of Math, Science, Language Arts, Social Studies and even has Spanish learning for all ages.

One of the great things about the site is if your not familiar with the site or where to place your student this site has a Diagnostic Accelerate growth section where you can see and track your students learning.

There is an Analytics Learning area where it provides insights that you address the spots your student is struggling in and help them to better learn the material they are struggling in. I like that they have this because I like to follow what my kids are doing and even though I may assess them and see where they are struggling there is always that once chance I am missing something. So having the placement diagnostics is a plus.
Having this site has been a great help for my on-the-go part of life which has been a lot atm. Although I must admit my oldest has not got as much time in as her younger two siblings who seem to hog the devices lately. But she has also been helping in a family matter. My younger two used the program daily where as my oldest has been a couple days through out the weeks. I like that the child is tracked, so each time one of the kids log in they would click their child number 1, 2 or 3. Makes logging in easier and tracking them individually.

Beginning with my youngest whom has taken to learning in the Science and Language Arts area. I know we were to focus on one but she seems to stick her head in both areas because she likes both subjects. In the Language arts section with this program she showed she needed more help on her adjectives and verbs as well as figuring out her fiction vs non-fiction. The program is not a constant drilling of the area being learned they do make it more interesting in learning with pictures and involving the student.

My son stayed mostly in the science section. He liked learning mostly about the animals but he also enjoyed learning about the earth and some of the plants. Again noting that in questions they used pictures that were right and wrong to help the student in asnwering the question and other times there would be hints under the questions to the topic being learned. My oldest daughter liked the math section. She is a math freak and anytime she can learn something ahead of the agenda she wants to check it out. In the math section she struggled some with the Operations with Integer and percents and she continues to work in the percents and decimals. The step by step instructions and again using the pcitures at times to help learn the lesson was a huge help aid especially when my kids need the visual side of the lesson. Overall we like this program and will continue to use it especially while we are on the move. Others are reviewing the IXL as well and you can read their reviews below.

One of the Math lessons my daughter easily worked through as well as my son on his science below.
