Creative One

So my middle daughter wanted to make herself a pj costume for Christmas morning. This girl is beyond talented and I am not just saying that because she is my daughter. Lol. She has taken a big roll of yarn and literally transformed it in to a fox tail. 2 and a half days of working on the tail alone. This is dedication. She took some of the yarn strands and made a inch thick brade. She left enough at the bottom of the braide to comb out and make the tip of the tail. (Maybe 4 inches).

Then she took yarn and wrapped it around a small cardstock piece of square paper. (See image.)

She wrapped that 30 times, tie it tightly and she left a little strand so she could tie it through the braid.  I will show you a couple pictures of the tail but the end result will have to be updated later as she continues to work.

Ok so the pictures above are as she started to now little over half done. (I am on my phone doing this post so if it is googly or wrote funny it is because my screen is tiny. Lol)

Here are a few other pictures of the mess and the yarn left. She used a whole roll of yarn. The extra fluff will be used for the ears and the rest from there will be recycled in to a pillow or stuffed animal she plans to make with her younger sister. 😉

Here you can see the size of the remaining yarn. The mess you see of fluff, that is only one pile. She has another in her room. She could very easily make a good size pillow or a few stuffed animals. The last picture is the endless brushing of the yarn with a wire brush. (Not to mention the endless jabs of the fingers, one must be careful using a wire brush. Luckily it is a small cat one. So no major cuts.)

This is just an idea of what she is working on. I will update the end results later. Thought this would be fun share and encourager. When your kids want to get creative, sometimes it is good to just roll with it and see what they can do. 😉
